ARCOlisboa 2024 takes root in the Portuguese capital

With the participation of 84 galleries from 15 countries, ARCOlisboa will present the Portuguese art scene in a broad dialogue with Spanish and European art.

ARCOlisboa, a fair organized by IFEMA MADRID and the Lisbon City Council, will hold its 7th edition from May 23 to 26 at Cordoaria Nacional, once again turning the Portuguese capital into one of the most attractive centers of artistic and cultural interest in Europe and a meeting point for collectors, gallery owners, artists, and professionals from around the world.

The Fair will be organized around three areas: the General Program, formed by 59 galleries, and the curated sections, OPENING Lisbon, with a selection of 17 galleries, and The Shapes of the Ocean, consisting of 8 galleries.

On this occasion, the participation of Portuguese galleries represents 34% of the fair, with a total of 28 galleries. The international segment accounts for 66% — 56 galleries —, mainly from Europe, with a significant presence from countries such as Spain, Germany, France, and Austria.

The main axis of the fair, the General Program, expands to a total of 59 galleries selected by the Organizing Committee, incorporating galleries participating for the first time such as Charim, adn gallery, or L21. Some participations returning after a short hiatus are also recovered, such as Ehrhardt Flórez, Piero Atchugarry, or Graça Brandão, and others like Janh und Jahn and Foco moving to the general section after participating in OPENING Lisbon last year. In addition to these galleries, there is the loyalty of others such as Bruno Múrias, Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art, Francisco Fino, Madragoa, Pedro Cera, Vera Cortês, as well as CarrerasMugica, Helga de Alvear, Mayoral, Leandro Navarro, or Carlier | Gebauer, 193 Gallery, Document.
