Corleone Ristorante al Mare
Newest Cascais Culinary Jewel Brings Amalfi Coast Vibes!
In the bustling heart of Cascais Bay, a new culinary gem has appeared, and it's not just another Italian... Welcome to Corleone, the Italian restaurant that the locals didn't know they needed until Miguel Garcia decided to sprinkle some Southern Italian magic along the picturesque coastline.
After the success of Bougain, Miguel Garcia was back at it, opening Corleone in the charming Villa Cascais hotel. And let's be honest, who wouldn't be drawn to that stunning terrace? It’s like a siren call to passersby, even on those rare gloomy days in Cascais. The terrace's sober yet vivid colors whisper, "Come, sit, eat." Inside, it’s an explosion of summer hues that make you feel like you've stepped into a postcard from the Amalfi Coast. The interior, designed by Inês Moura, boasts a palette of yellow and blue tones reminiscent of Southern Italy, creating an ambiance that is both vibrant and welcoming.
Miguel Garcia, inspired by his years in the hospitality industry and his deep appreciation for Italian culture, saw a gap in Cascais for a truly authentic Italian restaurant. "Cascais lacked a restaurant with 100% Italian cuisine, more focused on classic dishes and fresh pasta made daily," Garcia notes.
Miguel had a vision: Cascais needed a true Italian experience, one where fresh pasta is made daily and the dishes transport you straight to Southern Italy.
Crafted by renowned chef Rodolfo de Santis, a native of Puglia with a celebrated culinary career in Brazil, the menu at Corleone reads like a love letter to Italian cuisine. Start with antipasti like vitello tonnato or the ever-irresistible arancini. Then, dive into primi dishes such as carbonara or the show-stopping spaghetti all'aragosta – trust us, the lobster tail alone is worth it.
Feeling fancy? The secondi offers lemon risotto with grilled prawns, a sea bass fillet that’s practically a work of art, and the famous Milanese veal cutlet. And let's not forget dessert – from tiramisù to panna cotta, each bite is a sweet serenade to your taste buds.
Miguel is quick to point out that Corleone is "100% Italian, not just a pizzeria." He’s created a place where service is paramount, ensuring that every guest feels like part of the family. Familiar faces from Bougain, like the ever-charming Carlos Eduardo Silva, are there to welcome you with open arms.
And about that name – no, it’s not a mafia hideout. Corleone is a nod to a region in Sicily, and the decor draws heavily from Sicily and the Amalfi Coast. Even the cocktail menu and wine list stay true to this Italian heritage, promising a full-on immersion in Italian culture.
"The place is iconic, the location unique," Miguel says with a smile. It's clear that Corleone isn’t just any restaurant – it’s an experience.
Corleone stands out as a beacon of Italian culinary excellence in Cascais, offering a taste of the Amalfi Coast in an unparalleled setting. Whether for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a special celebration, Corleone promises a dining experience that will transport you straight to Southern Italy.
