At the Peso estate we have the privilege of listening to the olive groves that have been growing here for over four thousand years. Of the estate’s 465 hectares, some 160 are given over to vineyards, and 100 to olive groves managed by partners, while the rest provides natural corridors and ensures well-balanced ecosystems.

We determined that the Peso estate is home to 12 different types of soil. Of the 16 grape varieties we have today, some are non-native and some native to the Alentejo, yet each one produces local wines that are true to the Peso terroir.

Our Herdade de Peso family has experience with countless vintages from around the world. They are enthusiastic creators, and true chefs when it comes to balancing our wines with the unique “ingredients” of each vineyard.
